Rinniker Peak a Poem

Rinniker Peak

Rinniker Peak could sow and could mend
Until she came to a sticky end
She worked on mens jacket, shirts and hose
Until Ezekiel Perkins picked her a rose

A rose of rare beauty as white as snow
He brought it to court her; you know how it goes
The rose did not wilt from winter to spring
The village elders declared it a sin.
She was hanged by the neck in '72
As a warning to men not witches to woo.
